Pollinator Team Volunteer

The Crab Orchard Refuge Pollinator Team maintains existing established areas such as: A 2-acre Prairie Rehab Project, Multiple Demonstration Beds, Habitat Beds, Pollinator Demonstration Garden, the Juliette Girl Scout Garden. We will design and install a new Educational/Demonstration Bed by the New Visitor’s Center! We use native-only grasses, forbs, trees, and shrubs from sowing to harvest. So come on out and join us! We meet at the Harmony Trail parking lot on Fridays at 8:00 a.m. during hot summer hours, and 9:00 a.m. the rest of the time, from March through September.

The Crab Orchard Refuge is always looking for volunteers to work on trails, patrol Refuge roads in a Refuge truck, monitor wildlife habitats, such as bluebird trail, greet visitors at the Visitor’s Center, and assist with educational programs.  Volunteers can join any of our many workday projects and special events. Your volunteer hours are vital to many Refuge programs. For more information contact the Visitor’s Center at 618-997-3344.
